Some history : The Giulietta Ti (Tipo 101) (the gearbox belongs to) was originally purchased in 31/5/1962 by its first owner. We bought the car in 1979 (my father's present to my mother) with approximately 87,000 Km on the clock (2nd owner) In 1980, my father switched this 4th shifted matching numbers one, with a 5th shifted one from a Giulia 1600 0f 1969. From the above, it is easy to derive that this gearbox has worked for about 90,000 Km and has been stored in our private workhouse ever since.
My father claims that this original 4 shifted gearbox was a great performer, when was on our Giulietta. But it was very common those days among the Alfisti, to go for a nice 5th shifted one, so he resulted to a successful switch.
This original Tipo 101 gearbox was meant to be in our possession throughout all these years - just think, that when we sold the car in June 2006, the 3rd owner didn't want to have the original gearbox and he told us that he was not interested in a 100% ground restoration. He just wanted the car the way it was. Frankly, my father was very very pleased : he did not want to give this rare and genuine matching number item, to a person, who would not appreciate its value and condition.
I suggest that price for this gearbox, should be of (P.O.A) concept, taking into mind a reserve (lower) price of 1,250 Euro.
